A SECTION ON PRETRIAL CONFINEMENTS COVERS BAIL, PSYCHIATRIC EXAMINATION AND TREATMENT, ACCELERATED REHABILITATION, AND BEHAVIOR REPORTS. OTHER TOPICS INCLUDE FREEDOM FROM CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT PRISON CONDITIONS, MEDICAL CARE, GENERAL TREATMENT); FREEDOM FROM RELIGIOUS AND RACIAL DISCRIMINATION; WOMEN IN PRISON (SENTENCING AND CONDITIONS OF CONFINEMENT, EQUAL RIGHTS, CHILDREN); AND DETAINERS AND SPEEDY TRIAL (PROCEDURES FOR REQUESTING A SPEEDY TRIAL AND FOR RESOLVING DETAINERS, WHICH ARE NOTICES FROM POLICE IN ONE JURISDICTION TO CORRECTION OFFICIALS IN ANOTHER THAT A CRIMINAL CHARGE IS PENDING AGAINST AN INMATE OF THE PRISON IN THE SECOND JURISDICTION.
