THIS HANDBOOK FOR CASEWORKERS IS ONE OF A SERIES OF DOCUMENTS PREPARED AS PART OF THE CASE CLASSIFICATION AND STAFF DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM USED BY WISCONSIN'S PAROLE AND PROBATION AGENCIES.
Abstract
THIS DOCUMENT IS A COMPANION TO NCJ-53483, 'ANALYSIS OF THE CLIENT NEEDS ASSESSMENT SCALE.' IT TELLS THE CASEWORKER HOW TO IDENTIFY EACH OF 11 BASIC CLIENT NEEDS, PROVIDES TREATMENT STRATEGIES, TELLS WHEN TO MAKE A REFERRAL, AND SUGGESTS COMMUNITY RESOURCES WHICH MAY BE HELPFUL. NEED CATEGORIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: ACADEMIC AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS, EMPLOYMENT, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, MARITAL AND FAMILY RELATIONSHIP, COMPANIONS, EMOTIONAL STABILITY, ALCOHOL USAGE, MENTAL ABILITY, HEALTH, AND SEXUAL BEHAVIOR. THE SECTION ON SEXUAL BEHAVIOR CONTAINS INFORMATION ON EXHIBITIONISM, VOYEURISM, PEDOPHILIA, INCEST, RAPE, AND INVOLVEMENT IN PROSTITUTION OR HOMOSEXUAL OFFENSES. A CLIENT ASSESSMENT FORM IS APPENDED. (GLR)
