Abstract
THE FORMS ARE THE PRODUCT OF A 4-YEAR STUDY OF THE NEEDS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN MANAGING CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS. THE FORMS ARE PRESENTED IN A LOOSE-LEAF FORMAT, PHOTO-READY FOR REPRODUCTION BY POLICE AGENCIES THAT PURCHASE THEM. INCLUDED ARE A 10-PAGE COMPREHENSIVE INVESTIGATION FORM, A CHECKLIST FOR NOTING WHICH FORMS ARE TO BE USED IN A GIVEN INVESTIGATION, AND AN INVESTIGATIVE INDEX, WHICH WHEN COMPLETED PROVIDES INVESTIGATORS AND THEIR SUPERVISORS WITH AN OVERVIEW OF THE CASE. OTHER FORMS PERTAIN TO THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF CRIMES, INFORMATION-GATHERING TASKS, AND EVIDENCE: WITNESS INTERVIEWS, ARSON, OUTDOOR AND INDOOR CRIME SCENE SKETCHES, BLOODSTAIN DISTRIBUTION, EXPLOSIONS, SUSPECTED POISONING, FATAL VEHICLE ACCIDENTS, CRIME SCENE LOG, PHOTOGRAPHY, FINGERPRINTS, EVIDENCE INVENTORY, EVIDENCE RELEASE, INJURIES TO VICTIM, AUTOPSY, DENTAL IDENTIFICATION, SEXUAL ASSAULT, SUSPECTED USE OF DRUGS, FIREARMS, FRAUDULENT DOCUMENTS, HANDWRITING SAMPLES, INTOXICATED DRIVERS, AND VEHICLE INVESTIGATION.
