Michigan Department of Corrections activities for 1975 and 1976 are reported including correctional facility, field service, administrative services, and personnel department activities.
Abstract
Demographic data on the Michigan corrections system are reported, and court dispositions in the State are summarized. About 38 percent of all court dispositions in 1975 resulted in prison sentences. Facility services include reception center, maximum security, behavior modification, reformatory, community-based, State industry, and health care programs as well as facilities for female prisoners. The field services unit is responsible for parole and probation, furloughs and temporary releases, and community-based corrections programming. Program development and analysis is carried out by the Bureau's programming section. Fiscal control is provided by the administrative section, while information flow and management systems and technique improvement are the responsibility of a management services division. The Bureau's personnel department is responsible for affirmative action and training programs. Charts, graphs, photos, and maps are included.
