Abstract
During the 1975-76 funding cycle, the Planning Office will emphasize evaluation and juvenile delinquency prevention. The Office of Research Programs' Corrections Division focuses its research on offender classification, postadjudication, restitution, furloughs, female offenders, and other matters. The police subsections have done response time studies and will research police discipline, rank structure, and visibility issues. The Community Crime Division's primary research objectives are in reducing opportunities for crime, environmental crime factors, citizen participation, and victimology. The Courts Division is studying ways to resolve the court delay problem and other procedural and quality-of-justice issues. The Advanced Technology Division has developed a lightweight bulletproof vest and is exploring other police equipment needs, and NCJRS is planning to offer multimedia, microfilm, and foreign language materials. Other speakers introduce the new Juvenile Justice Division's press and public relations functions. They also describe products and services of the Office of Model Program Division and the Demonstration and Replication Division. Information dissemination responsibilities and Institute policy matters are also outlined.
