A MULTI-STATE CORRECTIONAL TRAINING SESSION FOR TOP AND MIDDLE MANAGEMENT AND DEPARTMENT TRAINERS IS PRESENTED FOR THE STATES OF TENNESSEE, WEST VIRGINIA AND KENTUCKY.
Abstract
THE FOLLOWING AREAS ARE TREATED IN THE TRAINING SESSION INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS, CORRECTIONAL PLANNING, STAFF DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, AND PUBLIC RELATIONS. SPECIFIC TOPICS COVERED IN THE REPORT WERE - HALFWAY HOUSES, JUVENILE CORRECTIONS, PROBLEM AREAS IN CORRECTIONAL PLANNING, DEVELOPMENT OF STAFF, MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF PERSONNEL, USING VOLUNTEERS IN COURTS THE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM AT SHELBY COUNTY PENAL FARM, TRAINING VOLUNTEERS, EVALUATION OF IN-HOUSE PROGRAMS AND PERSONNEL, AND THE ART OF LEARNING AND PERCEPTION.
