Abstract
During 1981-82, 55 rape victim counseling centers were operating under this program, and a prosecutors' training program is underway as are child sexual abuse and child sexual exploitation treatment programs. The victim counseling centers were designed to include crisis intervention services, followup counseling, inperson counseling, information and referral services, and advocacy. The centers provided all of these services but varied in the number of services provided because of their diversity in size, population served, and geographic location. The centers are also encouraging the development of community networks to aid victims and are providing community education and prevention programs. Funds are a problem. Appendixes include a glossary, quarterly data forms for several of the centers, sample study forms, excerpts from State codes, and other information. Some data tables are provided.
