Part of the uniform crime reporting system of West Germany, this document provides crime statistics of the Free Hansa City of Hamburg for 1981.
Abstract
Summary data are provided on the demographics of Hamburg and overall crime trends in the city, followed by analyses according to crime type, crime rate for each type, geographic area, police division, weapons offenses, victim characteristics, damages, and clearance rates. Offender data are given in terms of sex, age, percentage of the population, and nationality; a new statistical approach in use with this report is contrasted with the way offenders were counted in 1980. Other tables show juvenile delinquency rates, and percentage of foreign offenders by age, nationality, and type of sanction. Crime types highlighted in individual tabulations include violent crimes, homicide, robbery, rape, drug-related crimes, and others. Most of the document is in tabular form.
