The annotated bibliography presents 159 citations covering alternative sentencing for white-collar offenders and critiques of white-collar sentencing policies and practices.
Abstract
Specific areas considered include goals and theory of punishment, sentencing in general, crime and economics, and dealing with white-collar crime and offenders (descriptions, corporate crime, controlling the white-collar offender, sentencing white-collar offenders, defense of white-collar offenders, and sentencing disparities and white-collar sentencing). Also presented are publications on studies and statistics and problems and suggested correctives. Dating from 1949 to 1981, the publications include textbooks, professional journal articles, bibliographies, and essays. Both national and international approaches to white-collar crime are noted.
