This manual presents the variables and coding information for the dataset consisting of the criminal homicides nationwide presented in the Uniform Crime Reports for 1980-82.
Abstract
Homicide data cover murders, manslaughter, negligent killings, and justifiable homicides. Information on the victims, offenders, victim-offender relationship, weapons used, and the circumstances involved are provided for each incident. The data are available in two formats: logical record and OSIRIS. Descriptions of the data collection procedures and the codebook format are included.
