Narrative descriptions and tabular and graphic data report on the number and clearance of Part I crimes in Puerto Rico for calendar 1982, as well as victim characteristics for violent crimes.
Abstract
The Part I crimes covered are criminal homicide, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, and motor vehicle theft. Part I offenses committed in Puerto Rico are compared for 1982 and 1981. Statistics on the number of Part I offenses committed, classified by type of offense, are presented for 1973-82. Tabular data also cover the number of Part I offenses committed in Puerto Rico's Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) and each district in those areas for calendar 1982. Data are provided for each offense type. Victims of violent offenses are classified by type of offense, sex, and age for each MSA. A graph indicates the clearance rate for Part I crimes in calendar 1982.
