Statistics on the incidence of burglary encompass the number that occurred in 1984; the increase in the number of burglaries over the past 10 years; the percent of burglaries that occurred in urban, suburban, and rural areas; and the percentage of burglaries that occurred in residential and nonresidential properties. Detailed statistics are given on the circumstances of 1984 burglaries, burglary victims, and persons arrested for burglary in 1984.
