Abstract: ALL FIFTY STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA COMPLETED AND RETURNED A QUESTIONNAIRE COMPOSED OF FOURTEEN QUESTIONS. THE AREAS OF INQUIRY INCLUDED THE NUMBER OF PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS, PURPOSES OF FURLOUGH, AND CRITERIA FOR SELECTION. THE RESULTS ALSO INDICATED THE DATE OF PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION, ANTICIPATED CHANGES, EXISTING RESTRICTIONS, PROBLEMS, AND CURRENT ATTITUDES ABOUT CONJUGAL VISITING.
