A COMPREHENSIVE COMPARISON OF THE LIVERPOOL AND COPENHAGEN POLICE DEPARTMENTS FOLLOWS, DETAILING HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL ORIGINS, ORGANIZATIONAL ELEMENTS, COSTS, GOALS, AND MEANS USED TO ATTAIN THOSE GOALS. BRIEF OUTLINES CONSIDER THE POLITICAL AND LEGAL TRAITS AND ORGANIZATION OF POLICE SYSTEMS IN AUSTRIA, BELGIUM, FRANCE, WEST GERMANY, ITALY, THE NETHERLANDS, NORWAY, SPAIN, SWEDEN, AND SWITZERLAND. SELECTED READING LISTS ON POLICE ORGANIZATION AND CULTURAL INFLUENCES ARE PROVIDED FOR EACH SYSTEM DISSCUSSED.
