Annotation: COLLECTION OF PAPERS DIRECTED TOWARD RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FIELD OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING FOR APPLICATION BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES.
Abstract: THE 1973 CARNAHAN CONFERENCE WAS SPONSORED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY IN CONJUNCTION WITH VARIOUS TECHNICAL GROUPS OF THE INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS. THE CONFERENCE WAS DIVIDED INTO SEVEN SESSIONS, EACH COVERING A DIFFERENT TOPIC - DATAVOICE SECURITY, DETECTION AND ALARM SYSTEMS, CONTRABAND DETECTION, ALARM SYSTEMS, DATA AND IDENTIFICATION SYSTEMS, TARGET LOCATION AND SURVEILLANCE, AND COMMUNICATIONS. NUMEROUS PAPERS COMPRISE EACH SESSION. FOR EXAMPLE, THE CONTRABAND DETECTION SESSION CONTAINS 'PARCEL INSPECTION SYSTEM', 'A NOVEL METHOD FOR EXPLOSIVES DETECTION', AND 'AUTOMATIC DETECTION SYSTEM FOR SCANNING HAND BAGGAGE'. 'PROTECTION OF SENSITIVE INFORMATION IN A LAW ENFORCEMENT COMPUTER NETWORK' IS ONE OF THE PAPERS UNDER DATA-VOICE SECURITY AND THE TARGET LOCATION AND SURVEILLANCE SESSION INCLUDES 'LAW ENFORCEMENT APPLICATIONS OF SURVEILLANCE RECEIVERS'.
