Annotation: Following a description of application procedures and requirements of award recipients for National Institute of Justice (NIJ) research grants, 1990 research program plan announcements are presented under the various NIJ components.
Abstract: Research plan announcements under the Office of Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Research pertain to apprehension, prosecution, and adjudication of criminal offenders; drug testing in community corrections; public safety and security; punishment and control of offenders; crime victims; and white collar and organized crime. Research under the Center for Crime Control Research addresses criminal careers and the control of crime; drugs, alcohol, and crime; ethnographies of property offenders; forensic sciences and criminal justice technology; offender classification and prediction of criminal behavior; and violence prevention and control. NIJ fellowship programs and a special initiative on drug program evaluation are also explained. Existing NIJ programs are described along with plans for expanding and improving each program for 1990. NIJ organization is charted, and a personnel directory is provided, along with a list of peer reviewers and grant application forms.
