Annotation: It is well recognized that private security plays an important role in asset protection; yet, there is limited understanding regarding the protection practices of proprietary security services.
Abstract: Retail security managers possess definite attitudes toward security problems, and the approaches necessary to shape policy in the proprietary security setting. Based on a study of 45 retail security managers located in California and Arizona, selected operating policies and patterns are presented. 4 references, 4 tables. (Author abstract)
