| Abstract: |
The book lists 240 programs and 138 researchers in 43 States and Canada, 38 films, and 44 exhibitors and provides summaries of research findings and descriptions of many of the programs. Presentations on physical abuse examined trends in physical violence toward children, the effects of treatment programs, barriers to mandated reporting of suspected child abuse and neglect. Discussions of sexual abuse focused on the evaluation and treatment of adolescent sexual offenders, the impact of sexual abuse on children, the accuracy of children's reports of sexual abuse, and strategies for preventing child sexual abuse. |
