This study uses survey data to explore the degree to which State trial court judges perceive inaccurate and critical publicity about themselves, how they respond to such publicity, why, and with what implications. |
Abstract: |
It suggests that judges are ambivalent concerning inaccurate and negative publicity: they complain about incompetent coverage, yet they do not appear especially concerned about the impact of that coverage. The article closes with a discussion of some of the implications of this apparent paradox. 2 tables, 11 notes, 58 references. (Publisher abstract) |
