| Abstract: |
The first few chapters provide a general overview to the discussion of methodologies in drug prevention research. Specific issues in research include the interaction between drug epidemiology and drug abuse prevention, definitions of interventions and target populations, implementation issues, and experimental and quasi-experimental designs in prevention research. Other chapters discuss modeling of intervention effects, outcome measurement issues, implementation issues relevant to long-term effect and replication, and subject attrition in prevention research. The final chapters examine the validity of self-report data used in effectiveness trials, technology transfer issues, and prevention evaluation research methods. Chapter references |
