Annotation: The papers presented in this document stem from six seminars given in 1992-1993, under the auspices of the International Comparisons in Criminal Justice Project of the National Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders, based in London.
Abstract: The seminars covered diverse topics including the training of the judiciary in France, structuring sentencing discretion, the role of the public prosecutor in the Netherlands, recent developments in Canadian criminal justice, the work of the Council of Europe Expert Committee on Sentencing, and the role and future development of the Judicial Studies Board. Each seminar entry contains the text of primary speaker and a summary of the subsequent discussion.
