Annotation: The agenda for a meeting of the Gang Task Force in Tarrant County, Texas is provided.
Abstract: This incomplete Training Manual presents the agenda for a Gang Task Force Speakers Bureau Training meeting held May 15, 1993, in Fort Worth, Texas. Included in the manual are guidelines for volunteers of the Gang Task Force; a mission statement and goals of the Citizens Crime Commission of Tarrant County; a description of the Gang Task Force; discussions of the definition of a "gang" and gang members; a brief history of the evolution of gangs in America; suggestions regarding a national youth gang policy; theories concerning the development and structure of street gangs; types of gangs; and prevention and intervention strategies for schools. Also included is a copy of "A Citizen's Guide for Preventing and Reporting Crimes in Tarrant County." This 44-page guide contains information and advice concerning various crimes and crime prevention strategies, and lists of resources and contacts.
