Annotation: This document presents the instructional goal and curriculum outline for California police training focusing on crimes against the justice system.
Abstract: The instructional goal is to provide students with the ability to recognize when a crime against the justice system has occurred, to identify the crimes by their common names, and to classify them as either misdemeanors or felonies. The curriculum covers the following topics: bribery, perjury, impersonation of an officer, obstruction of an officer's official duties, filing a false police report, refusal to assist an officer, unlawful assembly, and disobedience to a dispersal order. Other topics include rout, riot, and incitement to riot; rescue, escape, and lynching; providing false information to a peace officer; intimidation of a victim or witness; and violation of a court order.
