Annotation: This directory lists educational programming available in Maine's jails, correctional facilities, and prerelease centers.
Abstract: The directory provides telephone numbers, addresses, and contact points for county jails and lists available educational programs and instructors. Educational programs focus on adult basic education, career counseling, computer literacy, self-esteem, basic programming, word processing, typing, vocational skills, and interpersonal communications. Correctional facilities offer many of the same educational programs as jails, as well as vocational training. A list of organizations involved in adult and continuing education in the correctional setting is provided, along with an alphabetical index of correctional education instructors and contact points in Maine.
