Annotation: This report presents statistics on California inmate populations, parole populations, and changes in July 1995 and each month during the previous year.
Abstract: The total inmate population was 131,590 in July 1995, including 122,732 males and 8,858 females. A total of 11,078 inmates were admitted and 10,842 were released during the month. The State had a total of 92,598 parolees, including 84,070 male parolees and 8,528 female parolees. The State had a total of 10,556 new parolees and released 9,363 offenders from parole during the month. The report also presents racial and ethnic data on institutional and parole populations.
