Annotation: This publication discusses innovations and implementations in law enforcement, crime prevention, corrections, and legislation taking place in Israel.
Abstract: The section on technology contains articles on a bomb disposal mini-tractor, communications improvement, satellite signals, and rifle testing. The second section is comprised of articles on police management issues, including procurement, the impact of the Middle East peace process on the Israel National Police, and police violence. The publication contains several articles on crime prevention, discussing youth police volunteers, teen beach patrol units, and vehicle theft prevention. In the area of identification and investigation, articles cover training police arson investigators, using dogs in arson investigations, and implementing a new automatic national fingerprint identification system. Cooperative efforts between Israeli law enforcement and police agencies in Australia, Haiti, and Jordan are described in another section. The section on corrections discusses parenting education in Israeli prisons, prisoners' exercise of their right to vote, inmate employment programs, and issues related to prisoners with AIDS.
