Annotation: This article analyzes the plight of the support services directorates of Hungary's county police forces and suggests organizational changes for these forces.
Abstract: There have been considerable efforts to improve the technical conditions and develop the personnel of the police in Hungary. The budget of the police has been increased by more than 20 percent in real terms compared to 1991; the number of personnel has increased by more than 23 percent.
