Notes at the end of the volume provide further information on: Imprisonment (Adults); Custodial Penalties for Young Offenders; Life Imprisonment; Summary of Relevant Legislation; Seasonal Adjustment; Data Sources and Accuracy; Recording Practice; and Related Publications. Data were not available to update the analysis of reconvictions of inmates following discharge from custodial sentences which was contained in the 1994 edition of this volume.
