Annotation: This report presents statistics on case filings, dispositions, and pending cases for each court in the Missouri State court system for fiscal year 1996, together with comparisons with filings in fiscal year 1995.
Abstract: Data for the State Supreme Court and Court of Appeals cover the appeals filed and disposed, capital punishment and revenue appeals, writs filed and disposed, applications to transfer, motions filed and ruled, and the status of pending appeals. Circuit court data include the number of civil filings by the nature of action, charges and dispositions in selected categories, pending civil cases, domestic relations dispositions, felony dispositions, misdemeanor dispositions, traffic dispositions, and juvenile dispositions. The data also cover tort, contract, administrative review, landlord-tenant, small claims, and other filings, as well as probate and domestic relations cases. Data are also presented regarding the age of different types of cases at disposition. Tables, map, and appended definitions and other background information
