Annotation: The role and activities of the Federal Judicial Center in 1995 are described.
Abstract: The Center was established in 1967. It develops and administers education and training programs for judges and other court personnel; develops, maintains, and tests technology for information processing, education, and communications; produces audio and video publications and publications; conducts research; and promotes judicial federalism and educational programs for foreign judicial visitors to the United States. The Center's 1995 programs reached more than 2,500 judge participants. The Center also provided 1,154 programs for 23,604 clerk's office personnel, probation and pretrial services officers, and other court employees. The Center conducted research and planning efforts related to civil litigation, criminal law and procedure, bankruptcy, and judgeship needs. The Center loaned more than 4,000 copies of media programs and sent more than 700 copies of media and multimedia programs to courts for them to keep and use.
