Annotation: This annotated bibliography on offender job training and placement was developed for the Office of Correctional Job Training and Placement (OCJTP) within the National Institute of Corrections (NIC).
Abstract: The OCJTP asked the NIC Information Center to prepare the bibliography in response to a legislative mandate to collect and disseminate information on offender job training and placement programs, accomplishments, and employment outcomes. The bibliography lists more than 300 documents from the NIC Information Center collection. Document citations are grouped into four major categories: (1) vocational education; (2) inmate industries; (3) offender/ex-offender employment; and (4) multidisciplinary materials. Subgroupings within these categories direct the reader to particular topics, such as curriculum materials and outcome studies and evaluations. For each document, the citation lists the author(s), source, sponsoring agency if applicable, date, pagination, and a unique accession number.
Main Term(s): Corrections
Index Term(s): Correctional industries; Employment services; Ex-offender employment; Inmate run industries; Vocational training
