Annotation: The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (The Convention) of the United Nations (U.N.) Economic and Social Council presents its report on the reconvened 19th session, held December 3, 2010.
Abstract: Chapter 1 of the report addresses matters that call for action by or attention from the U.N. Economic and Social Council. The draft decision for adoption by the U.N. Economic and Social Council is the Report on the Commission’s reconvened 19th session. Chapter 2 presents Commission deliberations and actions on strategic management, budget, and administration. Chapter 3 reports Commission deliberations on “other business.” Chapter 4 focuses on adoption of the Commission’s report on its reconvened 19th session. Chapter 5 addresses the organization of the session and administrative matters. Topics covered are the opening and duration of the session, attendance, documentation, and closure of the 19th session. Annexes contain a statement by the co-chairs of the standing open-ended intergovernmental working group on improving the governance and financial situation of the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime, as well as a list of documents before the Commission at its reconvened 19th session.
