Annotation: EVALUATION OF THE LA PLAYA-PONCE YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU DURING THE PERIOD 1 FEB. 1974 TO 31 DEC. 1974, ASSESSING THE PROGRAM'S OBJECTIVES, OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS, AND IMPACT ON YOUTH CLIENTELE AND THE LA PLAYA COMMUNITY.
Abstract: THE EVALUATION WAS BASED ON INTERVIEWS, QUESTIONNAIRES, AND ANALYSES OF DATA, RECORDS AND REPORTS. THE BUREAU SHOWED SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENT IN PREVENTING JUVENILE DELINQUENCY AND DIVERTING YOUTH FROM THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM THROUGH REFERRALS, INTERAGENCY COORDINATION, COUNSELING, AND FOLLOW-UPS. RECOMMENDATIONS ARE MADE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: PLANNING AND COORDINATING PROGRAMS, IMPROVEMENT IN THE PROGRAMS, POSSIBLE MANAGEMENT CORRECTIVE ACTION.
