Abstract: THE AUTHOR DETAILS THE REASONS FOR STARTING THE PARAMEDICAL PROGRAM, THE BACKGROUND OF AND COOPERATION OBTAINED FROM THE COMMUNITY, AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SERVICE FROM PLANNING STAGES AND GOAL-SETTING, TO OBTAINING THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL. THE FIRST FEW EXPERIENCES OF THE PROGRAM ARE GIVEN, AS WELL AS REASONS WHY OTHER COMMUNITIES SHOULD FOLLOW SUIT.
