Abstract: THE INTRODUCTION INCLUDES A DEFINITION OF THE CAREER AREA, COURSE OBJECTIVES, COURSE STRATEGIES, A SUGGESTED TIME TABLE, AND CAREERS EXPLORED IN THE COURSE. THE EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES, ORGANIZED ACCORDING TO OBJECTIVES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESOURCES, EXAMINE THE CAREERS OF: PATROLMAN, POLICEWOMAN, POLICE DETECTIVES, CRASH SQUAD PATROLMAN, POLICE LABORATORY SPECIALIST, VICE SQUAD, PARK POLICE, AND SPECIAL AGENT (FBI). TEACHING STRATEGIES INCLUDE A STUDY OF THE STUDENT ATTITUDES TOWARD AUTHORITY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, INTERVIEWS, A SELF-ANALYSIS QUIZ, DISCUSSION, INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP WORK, SMALL GROUP EXPLORATION TRIPS AND SELF-EVALUATION. THE APPENDIX CONTAINS: SUGGESTIONS, PROCEDURES, AND FORMS FOR EXPLORATION AND FIELD TRIPS; RESOURCES: CIVIL SERVICE JOB DESCRIPTIONS; WEEKLY SALARY SCHEDULE OF POLICE EMPLOYEES; AND SUPPORTIVE ROLES IN LAW ENFORCEMENT.
