Annotation: PROGRESS REPORT ON A PROJECT TO PROVIDE EXPERT ADVISORY SERVICES TO STATE AND LOCAL COURTS, RELATED AGENCIES, AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING UNITS, WHEN THESE SERVICES ARE NOT OTHERWISE AVAILABLE.
Abstract: SPECIFICALLY, THE PROJECT PROVIDES INFORMAL ASSISTANCE IN CLARIFYING PROBLEMS, DEFINING NEEDS, AND DETERMINING THE SCOPE OF ASSISTANCE REQUIRED BY POTENTIAL CLIENTS. ARRANGEMENTS ARE THEN MADE FOR ON-SITE, PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AS REQUIRED. ALL SUCH TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IS EVALUATED TO DETERMINE ITS EFFECTIVENESS, AND COMPLETE REPORTS ARE MADE TO THE CLIENT, AS WELL AS TO OTHER JURISDICTIONS WHERE THE REPORT MAY HAVE POTENTIAL UTILITY. INCLUDED IN THIS PROJECT PROGRESS REPORT ARE A STATISTICAL SUMMARY OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ACTIVITY, A PROJECT FINANCIAL SUMMARY, AND INFORMATION ON THE NATURE AND STATUS OF INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENTS. INFORMATION ON CLIENT EVALUATIONS OF ASSISTANCE, SUMMARIZED IN THE REPORT, INDICATES VERY FAVORABLE RESPONSE.
