Annotation: A NARRATIVE AND STATISTICAL REPORT WHICH SUMMARIZES THE ACTIVITIES AND OPERATIONS OF THE VARIOUS SERVICES UNDER THE DIVISION OF YOUTH AND PROVIDES DATA ON NUMBERS OF YOUTH SERVED.
Abstract: AMONG THE SERVICES DISCUSSED ARE COURT SERVICES, COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS, REGIONAL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CENTERS, STATE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CENTERS, AND ATTENTION HOMES. ALSO DISCUSSED ARE THE EFFECTS AND PROVISIONS OF THE INTERSTATE COMPACT ON JUVENILES, COMMITMENTS FOR SERIOUS OFFENSES, AND TOTAL COMMITMENTS BY THE JUVENILE COURTS. AN INCREASED EMPHASIS ON COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH IS NOTED.
