Annotation: LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS, DUE TO THEIR IMMEDIATE AND CONTINUING CONTACT WITH RAPE VICTIMS ARE SAID TO BE IN A POSITION TO PROVIDE VALUABLE CRISIS COUNSELING TO THE VICTIM.
Abstract: TECHNIQUES FOR DEALING WITH RAPE VICTIMS, BASED ON CRISIS INTERVENTION THEORY AND THE PARTICULAR NEEDS OF THE VICTIMS, ARE SUGGESTED. THROUGH FACILITATIVE COUNSELING THE OFFICER CAN PROVIDE EXPANDED AID AND ASSISTANCE TO CITIZENS WHILE CREATING AN ATMOSPHERE CONDUCIVE TO A MORE EFFECTIVE INVESTIGATION.
