THE MRD VISITS EACH CANADIAN CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION FOR TWO WEEKS, WHERE THE REVIEW TEAM OBSERVES AND EVALUATES THE INSTITUTION'S OPERATIONS. THE TEAMS CONDUCT EXTENSIVE INTERVIEWS WITH INSTITUTION STAFF, MANAGEMENT, AND INMATES TO DETERMINE PROBLEM AREAS AND TO EXPLORE POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS. AFTER THE ON-SITE REVIEW, THE TEAM PREPARES A DIRECTOR'S CHECKLIST OF MINOR PROBLEMS AND A FINAL REPORT.
