Annotation: A SENSITIVE TRIAL IS DEFINED AS ONE IN WHICH THERE IS A DANGER OF HARM TO THE DEFENDANT, ESCAPE BY THE DEFENDANT OR SOME FORM OF DISRUPTION IN THE COURTROOM.
Abstract: IN THIS VIDEOTAPE PROGRAM, A PANEL OF COURT SECURITY MEN FROM THE BAY AREA DISCUSS MAJOR SECURITY CONCERNS IN TRIALS OF THIS KIND AND REVIEW VARIOUS PRECAUTIONS THAT CAN BE TAKEN IN THE TRANSFER OF PRISONERS TO AND FROM COURT AND TO MAINTAIN SECURITY WITHIN THE COURTROOM ITSELF. EXAMPLES FROM ACTUAL TRIALS ARE GIVEN. THIS VIDEOTAPE IS AIMED AT MEETING THE NEEDS OF NEW AND IN-SERVICE DEPUTY SHERIFFS, U.S. MARSHALS AND BAILIFFS, ALONG WITH ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL CONCERNED WITH SECURITY MATTERS, AND IS PART OF A TRAINING AND EDUCATION MODULE DESIGNED FOR CALIFORNIA COURTHOUSE PERSONNEL.
