THE PROCEDURES RECOMMENDED FOR HANDLING INACTIVE CASE FILES INVOLVED RETAINING RECORDS FOR A CERTAIN NUMBER OF YEARS AFTER RELEASE FROM CORRECTIONAL SUPERVISION, BASED ON CRIME SERIOUSNESS.
