Abstract: ACTIVITIES TO REGULATE CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION PRACTICES AND SYSTEMS ARE SPECIFICALLY FOCUSED UPON. RELEVANT SYSTEMS IN GREAT BRITAIN AND CANADA ARE FIRST ANALYZED, INCLUDING HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT, ISSUES, AND PAST AND CURRENT PRACTICES. TRENDS IN THE U.S. ARE THEN DISCUSSED THROUGH ANALYSIS OF THE CASE LAW, CONGRESSIONAL LEGISLATION, AND THE ROLE OF THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH. STATE EXPERIENCES FOR THESE AREAS ARE ALSO DISCUSSED IN BRIEF.
