Annotation: THIS PROGRAM PLANNING STUDY, DATED FEBRUARY 1976, WAS PERFORMED FOR THE ORLANDO POLICE DEPARTMENT, WHOSE 620 PERSONNEL (420 SWORN) SERVE 97,565 PEOPLE LIVING IN AN AREA OF 27.5 SQUARE MILES.
Abstract: THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROJECT WAS UNDERTAKEN TO DEVELOP A MOTIVATING CAREER PLAN FOR POLICE OFFICERS THAT WOULD PROVIDE THEM WITH A CONTINUING INCREASE IN RESPONSIBILITY, PROFICIENCY, AND RENUMERATION. AMONG RECOMMENDATIONS, IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT THE DEPARTMENT PREPARE PERIODIC PERSONNEL EVALUATION REVIEWS AND INITIATE TRAINING REVISIONS....KAP
