Annotation: THE PURPOSE OF THIS PAPER IS TO PROVIDE AN UPDATED CRITICAL REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE REGARDING THE WECHSLER ADULT INTELLIGENCE SCALE (WAIS) EQUIVALENTS AND WAIS DIAGNOSTICS IN CORRECTIONS.
Abstract: THE ASSESSMENT OF INMATE INTELLECTUAL ABILITIES HAS IMPORTANT IMPLICATIONS FOR THE INMATE AND THE CORRECTIONAL ADMINISTRATION. CLINICAL DATA GENERATED ON AN EQUIVALENT TO THE LENGTHY WAIS AND THE VALIDITY OF SOME WAIS DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES FOR CORRECTIONAL USE ARE REPORTED. THE REVISED BETA EXAMINATION, PEABODY PICTURE VOCABULARY TEST, ARMY GENERAL CLASSIFICATION TEST, PERSONALITY SCALES, BRIEF FORMS, AND OTHER TESTS ARE CORRELATED WITH WAIS PERFORMANCE. THE CLINICAL WAIS DIAGNOSIS OF CRIMINALS AND DELINQUENTS IS ALSO DISCUSSED. FIVE PAGES OF BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES ARE PROVIDED....MSP
