Annotation: PREDICTOR VARIABLES UNDER INVESTIGATION WERE FOUND TO BE RELATIVELY INDEPENDENT OF EACH OTHER, BUT CRITERION VARIABLES WERE FOUND TO BE VERY HIGHLY INTERRELATED WITH EACH OTHER.
Abstract: IN CONSEQUENCE OF THE FAILURE OF THE MULTIVARIATE ANALYSES UNDERTAKEN IN THIS STUDY TO PROVIDE USABLE ACTUARIAL PREDICTION EQUATIONS FOR FUTURE INVOLVEMENT WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM AMONG RELEASES FROM A COMMUNITY CORRECTIONAL CENTER, THE BEST AVAILABLE UNBIASED ESTIMATES OF SUCH FUTURE INVOLVEMENT ARE TO BE FOUND IN THE MEAN VALUES AND/OR PROPORTIONS FOR THE SEVERAL PREDICTOR VARIABLES IN THE PRESENT STUDY. THESE DATA ARE CONSIDERED TO BE REGARDED AS NORMATIVE BASE-RATES APPLICABLE TO FUTURE RELEASES NOT DISSIMILAR IN IMPORTANT CHARACTERISTICS TO THE SUBJECTS REPRESENTED IN THE PRESENT SAMPLE....RCB
