Annotation: A RECORDS AND MANAGEMENT ANALYSIS SYSTEM ASSISTS IN COLLECTING, STORING, AND RETRIEVING POLICE SERVICE INFORMATION PERTAINING TO A PARTICULAR CRIMINAL CASE OR POLICE ACTIVITY.
Abstract: THE MANUAL IS INTENDED FOR USE BY FLORIDA LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO AUGMENT REPORT WRITING AND RECORDKEEPING CAPABILITIES. THE SYSTEM HOPES TO ANSWER OPERATIONAL AND MANAGEMENT NEEDS, AS WELL AS THE INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS OF THE UNIFORM CRIME REPORTING SYSTEM. THE MODEL RECORDS SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO BE SIMPLE AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND, SHOULD MINIMIZE THE EFFORT REQUIRED TO WRITE AND STORE REPORTS, SHOULD MAXIMIZE USES MADE OF THE COLLECTED INFORMATION, AND SHOULD BE FLEXIBLE ENOUGH TO ADAPT TO NEW REQUIREMENTS. THE MANUAL DEFINES BASIC SYSTEM CONCEPTS, INCLUDING SYSTEM COMPONENTS, MANAGEMENT REVIEW, FILING SYSTEMS, AND FORMS. INFORMATION FLOW OF REPORTING SYSTEMS AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IS DESCRIBED, AS WELL AS THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF SYSTEM PARTICIPANTS. FINALLY, CENTRAL RECORDS PROCESSING PROCEDURES ARE PRESENTED. APPENDIXES ARE INCLUDED.
