Abstract: GUIDELINES FOR ORGANIZING YOUTH ADVISORY BOARDS OPEN THE REPORT. THESE BOARDS PROVIDE YOUTH WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAN, OPERATE, MONITOR, AND EVALUATE PROGRAMS BY YOUTH FOR THE BENEFIT OF YOUTH. ADULTS ARE USED AS ADVISORS AND SOURCES OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE. INFORMATION IS PRESENTED ON THE ROLE, DUTIES, POWERS, AND LIMITATIONS OF THE BOARDS; ON BOARD COMPOSITION, SELECTION, AND MEMBERSHIP PROCEDURES; ON BOARD-CITY LIAISON; AND ON ORIENTATION AND IMPLEMENTATION. A SAMPLE YOUTH BOARD CONSTITUTION IS INCLUDED. A CHAPTER ON GRANTSMANSHIP OFFERS GUIDELINES FOR DEALING WITH FOUNDATIONS, LISTS LIBRARIES FROM WHICH INFORMATION ON FOUNDATIONS IS AVAILABLE, AND SUGGESTS READINGS. GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING A COMMUNITY RESOURCE IDENTIFICATION BOOK ARE PRESENTED. PROJECTS SUPPORTED BY FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GRANTS IN SUCH YOUTH-RELATED AREAS AS DRUG ABUSE, CHILD ABUSE, EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, JUVENILE JUSTICE, AND OTHERS BETWEEN 1972 AND 1976 ARE LISTED. DIRECTORIES OF FEDERAL AGENCIES, CHILD ABUSE RESOURCE CENTERS, CHILD ABUSE SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS, AND OTHER PROGRAMS ARE PROVIDED.
