Abstract: THE REPORT TOUCHES ON JUSTICE'S ACTIVITIES RELATIVE TO HUMAN RIGHTS, NUCLEAR POWER AND ITS IMPLICATIONS FOR CIVIL LIBERTIES, CRIMINAL JUSTICE, ADMINISTRATIVE LAW, AND CIVIL JUSTICE. THE SECTION ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE INCLUDES CRITICAL COMMENTS ON THE ACTIVITIES OF THE ROYAL COMMISSION ON CRIMINAL PROCEDURE, CASE STUDIES OF PERSONS WHOSE APPEALS WERE HANDLED BY JUSTICE, AND COMMENTS ON THE FAILURE OF GOVERNMENT TO PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF PRISONERS. REFERENCE IS MADE TO JUSTICE'S POSITION THAT MOST UNSATISFACTORY TRIALS AND CONVICTIONS IN BRITAIN STEM FROM PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE POWERS OF THE POLICE IN THE PROSECUTION PROCESS AND TO THE CONTROL OF POLICE INTERROGATIONS. THE REPORT ALSO DESCRIBES THE ACTIVITIES OF JUSTICE'S HONG KONG BRANCH AND OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION OF JURISTS, OF WHICH JUSTICE IS AN AFFILIATE. DETAILS OF JUSTICE'S MEETINGS FOR THE YEAR ARE PROVIDED, TOGETHER WITH A LIST OF JUSTICE PUBLICATIONS. (LKM)
