AN INTRODUCTORY DISCUSSION OF THE MEANING AND PRINCIPLES OF PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT IS FOLLOWED BY CHAPTERS ON PLANNING (SHORT-RANGE OR TACTICAL AND LONG-RANGE, STRATEGIC) AND ORGANIZATION (THEORY AND STRUCTURE, SPAN OF CONTROL, ORGANIZED CRIME). OTHER CHAPTERS COVER MANAGEMENT BY OBJECTIVES (TIME DEMAND ANALYSIS, FORMULATING AND WRITING OBJECTIVES, INITIATING A MANAGEMENT-BY-OBJECTIVES PROGRAM), LEADERSHIP, MOTIVATION, AND INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP BEHAVIOR.
