Annotation: THIS MANUAL CONTAINS THREE INSTRUMENTS DESIGNED TO OBTAIN THE PERCEPTIONS OF THE STUDENTS AND FACULTY OF SCHOOLS CONCERNING A VARIETY OF SCHOOL PROBLEMS.
Abstract: TWO SELF-ADMINISTERED QUESTIONNAIRES FOR STUDENTS AND SCHOOL STAFF AND A PRINCIPALS' INTERVIEW GUIDE WERE DEVELOPED AND TESTED AT 50 JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN 6 STATES. THESE INSTRUMENTS ARE DESIGNED TO IDENTIFY POTENTIAL SCHOOL PROBLEMS WHICH MAY BE TREATED BY MENTAL HEALTH PERSONNEL. THE MANUAL OUTLINES THE PROPER STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED DURING THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE TESTS AND INTERVIEWS, GUIDELINES FOR DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION, AND PARAMETERS FOR THE ASSIGNMENT OF PRIORITIES TO THE IDENTIFIED PROBLEMS. AN EXAMINATION OF THE INTERNAL CONSISTENCY AND VALIDITY OF THE INSTRUMENTS CONCLUDES THAT THE QUESTIONNAIRES PRODUCE DATA WITH A HIGH RELIABILITY AND ARE CAPABLE OF DISCRIMINATING AMONG PROBLEM AREAS WITHIN SCHOOLS.
